Warhawks are large predatory birds found in heavily forested areas. They are occasionally used as mounts by the Wood Elves of Athel Loren. While the Warhawks are most comfortable in the open skies above their mountain homes, they're more than capable of navigating the maze of interlocked branches that forms the canopy above Athel Loren. Movement under cover of the forest is no proof against the claws of a Warhawk.

Tome Text Edit
Giant birds of prey large enough to carry a fully-grown Wood Elf into battle upon their backs, warhawks are a valuable asset to the denizens of Athel Loren. The huge birds are effective scouts and effective combatants as they use their talons and hooked beaks to tear chunks of flesh from any who seek to do harm to the forest.
While the warhawks are most comfortable in the open skies above their mountain homes, they're more than capable of navigating the maze of interlocked branches that forms the canopy above Athel Loren. Movement under cover of the forest is no proof against the claws of a Warhawk.

The model of the Great Eagle is exactly the same as the Warhawk, unless you will kill any hawk around it is hard to differentiate them. Generally Eagles have the word "Eagle" in their name (Ellyrion Eagle, etc.) but some Eagles do not have this, and to make things more confusing the Crag Great Eagle is a Warhawk! The rank 1 flying Eagles are true eagles in the Shadowlands, where as ones that aren't named as Eagle are all Warhawks.
