[edit] Welcome aboard

Just wanted to say hi, thanks for contributing, and keep up the good work. :) » Bishop · talk « 10:37, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

I'm kinda new to the wiki formatting (I've learned basic formatting though), especially how this talk thing works, but I guess this is a reply or something :) Sunspots 14:08, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
You seem to have it down just fine. If there's anything you want to do, but not sure how, just ask. » Bishop · talk « 14:20, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks! I had a rather boring day, and I thought I'd help beef up the wiki. ;) Sunspots unknown date

[edit] The EU

Heh, I saw that there but wasn't sure if I was in the right by fixing it (not knowing exactly how the EU works). Make sure the steam doesn't come out your ears now ;) ~ Revoran 06:16, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

No problem, angry midnight editing, it isn't a big deal really :P Sunspots {Talk | Contribs} 09:23, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, that was my fault... I didn't realise it was such a sore point ;) - Pendrako 09:46, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your user page

I like the design of your user page - curved borders, nice colours etc. Unfortunately every time I try and view it, the Monaco navigation sidebar (and I think the sidebar in Monobook - the Wikipedia skin - as well) jump across to the right and obscure your user page. It's a very weird formatting error. It's not a big deal, but I thought i'd let you know. I'm using Firefox 3.2 - I think. Or 3.0. Something like that. ~ Revoran 06:34, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I know, I have no idea why it does like it does, the design was pretty much just a project to try what I could do, and then, somewhere in the making... poof, the sidebar jumped down pretty far. Sunspots {Talk | Contribs} 11:16, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
Much better :) ~ Revoran 02:36, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
Just removed a bunch of random code in the beginning ^^ Sunspots {Talk | Contribs} 15:32, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Reply

Yeah, I added the ZAMWiki template as a reverse-courtesy. I created one on our site to credit you and as we are both published under the GFDL and I am sure there will eventually be some cross-pollination I thought I would just set it up on both sides. --Bludwyng 05:52, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Ah, cool, try to keep one conversation on one page tho' :P Sunspots {Talk | Contribs} 17:57, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Guess I should have posted here, but please check out my talk page, thanks

Nope, an ongoing discussion should be kept on the talk page where it was started, unless if it branches into many topics, then you can split it. Sunspots {Talk | Contribs} 16:32, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] A proposal

Hey Sunspots, in case you didn't see Pen's page, you might want to check out User talk:Bishop#Giving some users extra priveliges. ~ Revoran | talk 04:04, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

Okay Sunspots, you should now have the ability to rollback edits - you'll see some small rollback links next to reports of the latest edit to a page in recent changes and history pages, as well as a few special pages. Clicking the link will undo all consecutive edits by the last user, back to the last time someone else edited it. For instance if I rollback user A's edit to Chaos, and he has made five edits to the page, it will remove all his edits back to the last version that was from another user - regardless of how many edits were in consecutive order to get back to that version. What it obviously doesn't do is remove all edits to a page by a particular user. This way you can remove many unproductive edits very quickly - and without the confirmation page step. Rolling back will also automatically add an edit summary. Have fun :) ~ Revoran | talk 12:36, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
Cool, thanks! Sunspots {Talk | Contribs} 12:39, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] *Sigh*

I didn't notice this before because I've been drunk for about two days straight, but I see you've been having some interesting ... dramas with another user. You might want to check User talk:Silenas-n-Jynnx for my thoughts. ~ Revoran | talk 13:38, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Redirects

Heya there... questions on redirects. I now know its not good to have a whole lot of them. I've put up a request on revoran's page to remove all the redirect pages I made, so we can move the pages with info (& reformat etc.) once that's decided. I apologize for jumping into things. It's a lot easier to move things around with html - I didn't realize the ramifications, and I apologize for the trouble.

As for the questions - when is it OK to use them? For example - I've been pushing for WAR Story to be used because thats what in game ToK has it. but, if someone types in war story in search, it won't come up. Now, is it that it's such a popular page that it should have a redirect incase someone doesn't use caps? or is it that its so popular it will be easily accessable and people won't need to search for it? When is it OK to make redirects for different punctuation/capitalization? (I'm spoiled by html where a few extra bits don't matter so much - and C++ where naming conventions are more particular and indivudual people are in charge of naming their own sections)Silenas-n-Jynnx 17:40, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

No need to apologize really, I'm a bit unsatisfied with the wiki's way to handle caps, when entering "zealot" without caps in the search I get directly to "Zealot" without problems (I seem to be obsessed with Zealots, lol), I don't know why this isn't the case with this article. [edit] Sorry for asking you so many questions, but you seem to know a lot of answers....

It seems we have no template:ItemBox that I can find. I was thinking about it - and I thought it would be cool if the template changed color of item's name depending on rarity.

Mythic Very Rare Rare Uncommon Common Can't Remember Gray Name

I'd like to have the box background be black (matching game) image of item's icon, colored name, & all stats as they appear in game, so Common items names would be in white... Once Ive got one made I'll link in some other talk pages to get opinions. Help with this getting name to change color depending on rarity would be great. Or perhaps you can lead me to a good site that has good wiki algorithms? would be wonderful!!Silenas-n-Jynnx 15:38, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

Oh yeah - can you tell me how to do your cool sig that has the lil talk link next to it? =)

I know there is a way to define so that special parameters gives special output, I don't know really how though, I've tried looking through the if-statements on different templates and help pages but I still don't really get it.
My sig is made by using two user sub-pages, User:Sunspots/sig and User:Sunspots/zig (what I have entered in the signature field in my preferences is {{SUBST:User:Sunspots/zig}} and "Raw signature" is ticked), I think this page has a tutorial on how to do it, maybe there is some guide here on hammerwiki, don't have time to check it out (and not really explain it all thoroughly), gonna hold a party here soon (and while waiting I'm playing around with my new video card) Sunspots {Talk | Contribs} 16:39, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
Ok... stupid question.... I can't find "my preferences".......Silenas-n-Jynnx 16:56, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Right top corner, in the "More" drop-down box :)Sunspots {Talk | Contribs} 19:34, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Naming on chapters

Heya there - it seemed like we were getting closer with the chapter naming. I like the [WAR Story] breaking down to [Dark Elf Storyline] instead of [Dark Elf WAR Story] because you're right - thats how it is in the tome. For chapters, have we decided to name them like [Dark Elf Chapter 1]? Or is the discussion on using titled names still on? Or was there a better way to name them? Please answer here or in talk:chapter and thanks for signature link - Im about to check that out!Silenas-n-Jynnx 16:35, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Reply

thanks for the welcome, and alright, i was just updating the information, and infact i found that actionbox template you linked me on one of the ones i was going to edit. so i was actually about to go back and re-update the information with the new design because i thought it looked better. nice to know it's also the prefered style. once the servers are back up (typical that they're down when i finally decide to do the updates) i'll get pictures and more acurate information onto the pages. Astillius 21:02, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Perfect, as another note, to ease oversight of conversations, put your answer after the previous comment, starting with a colon to make an indent (further colons for further indent) Sunspots {Talk | Contribs} 21:09, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] IRC?

Hey Sunspots, seeing as you're one of our most useful contributors here, I thought i'd get your opinion on this. Thanks again for all the work you do here. ~ Revoran | talk 00:56, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

I'll be there :) Sunspots {Talk | Contribs} 01:12, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
