[edit] Introduction

Hi, I'm Bishop. I foolishly promised Gravewit that if he built it, I would take a lead on the HammerWiki project. So here I am.

Gravewit has also entrusted me with the task of being an admin around here. To that end, if you have a question or concern that you feel is unfit for the wiki, please contact me before bothering him.

[edit] More recently

HammerWiki was transferred to Wikia as part of the Gamewikis project which was all assimilated. Wikia staff, however, appears committed let the community proceed as it was, and has elected to keep me around as the only Bureaucrat on hand. However, with Wikia being the backing organisation, all final decisions will rest on their staff...especially in the event that I should fail to properly service the community.

I can be reached by email at Image:bishopmail.png, but I will also be automatically notified of changes to my talk page, so if it is the same to you, please start there.

[edit] Even more recently

Illness in the family, as well as a minor inconsistency of vision between myself and Wikia, has left me with less time and energy to contribute as much to the wiki as I would have liked. It may appear that I am not around very often. However, I do visit once in a while and I can still easily be reached by posting on my talk page.

There is some really awesome work going on right now, and I am proud that the HammerWiki project is improving and evolving even without my interference full attention. Keep up the good work! » Bishop · talk « 10:45, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fandom history

I've played Warhammer Fantasy Battle, Warhammer 40K, The Warhammer pen'n'paper RPG (but just one session) and Necromunda. I was a beta tester on Dawn of War -- since before it was even remotely good -- and I've generally been a modest fan of everything Warhammer since forever. I've never gotten totally into any of it, however, always borrowing armies when playing table-top and only playing on the odd occation. And I don't dig the whole painting-scene, A: because I'm not good at it, and B: because they're pewter man-dolls.

I have very high hopes and expectations for Warhammer Online, however, and the reason why I am here, a part of HammerWiki, is that I loved what GuildWiki did for Guild Wars and I think we can do just as great for WAR. Documentation is fun, and once the ball gets rolling, noone's going to be able to beat HammerWiki as far as information on WAR is concerned.

I think that is actually already the case overall, but there is still so much work to be done. And we really don't know the half of it yet, either way. So keep those contributions coming!

Take these for what they are... ie, nothing. I just keep forgetting where to find certain stuff.
