The Chaos Wastes is the fourth tier zone for the Raven Host army. The outskirts of the Chaos Wastes are similar to an artic tundra, while further inward they become a warped wastland, full of mutated inhabitants and changed by the power of Chaos, even to the point of Time slowing down or speeding up, and the laws of gravity failing, sending chunks of earth into the sky.

[edit] Overview

Though the Chaos Wastes are a vast warped, cold and barren wasteland to the north (and probably also the south) of the habitable areas of the world, only a comparatively small part of them is able to be visited in WAR. The Chaos Wastes are inhabited by various horrific and mutated Flora and Fauna, daemons, many beastmen and barbaric tribes of Northmen who worship the Chaos Gods whose influence is strong here. In WAR, the Bastion Stair and the Inevitable City are both located in the Chaos Wastes. At the very centre of the wastes, (though this is not visitable in WAR) a great Chaos Portal between the material world and the Realm of Chaos spews raw magical energy, the stuff of Chaos, into the world. Several other, lesser rifts also exist in the wastes - notably those beyond the Bastion Stair and at the center of the crater which the Inevitable City is built upon.
