Talk:Storm of Chaos/Vardek Crom

Is this page needed, considering that Archaon is not canon in the Age of Reckoning timeline? Vikingkingq 08:53, 5 May 2008 (UTC)Vikingkingq
- Agreed. Ideally, someone should set up another wiki on wikia gaming to cover regular Warhammer Fantasy to put all these unrelated background articles that don't have any relevance to WAR. I'd do it, but I've enough on my plate already. I'll tag this for deletion, but it's a shame to be wasting work like this. - Pendrako talk 11:29, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- As I explained on Talk:Grimgor Ironhide I expected this Wiki to work much in the same way as WoWWiki, that is with a focus on the game, but everything else should still be added.. Personally I have been unable to find a useful Wiki about WarHammer lore and thought it would be useful to expand on the game lore.. Especially as I barely know anything about WAR -Rovdyr 20:52, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- It's a common discussion we have here, Rovdyr. Essentially, we want to grow to be a relevant source for both WAR and WHFB. However, we find that a lot of people who do work on the lore articles shy away from working on the game articles (I occasionally find myself doing the same.) While I agree, I think working towards a solid WHFB wiki should be a goal as well, currently we want to ensure the quality of our game articles. When working on a lore article you need to ask yourself -
- Is it related to WAR?
- If it's not, how important is it to Warhammer lore?
- If it's not really, then the article (for now) shouldn't be more than a small blurb. (See Settra the Imperishable as an example.)
- There are exceptions, though. Nagash, while not directly related to WAR, is one of the more important characters in the lore, so he has a very well rounded article. I, personally, want to see this wiki grow beyond just WAR, and (like WOWWiki,) become one of the leading sources of WHFB lore on the net (I already think it's there.) But for now we need to concentrate on making it the best WAR wiki on the net. In addition (and directly related to Grimgor,) Storm of Chaos isn't recognized to have happened in the "pocket universe" WAR is in, so references to the event are somewhat marginalized. In the future, we may include them with a sort of "Outside WAR canon" tag and keep them - but for now we shy away from them. --Mikeblack 00:57, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
