Talk:Snare

From HammerWiki

A snare, generally, is not quite the same as a root. A root immobilizes a target completely, whereas a snare is a movement speed reduction (of less than 100%). That is not to say, however, that they could not both be discussed in the same article rather than having two separate articles. » Bishop · talk « 01:00, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Hmm, okay, I was quite sure that snare and root was the same thing. A tactic which mentions "resistance to snare effects" should be resistance against root effects, or would that be resistance against movement impairing effects?
I think that snare and root is the same thing and movement impairing effect is the term used for something that slows you down ~ Gigaboost- 01:16, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
While I do not know exactly how the terminology is going to be in WAR, my interpretation is based upon the conventions used in previous games, such as WoW (compare Snare and Root) and DAoC. I think it is a safe assumption that "snare" is shorthand for "movement impairing effects exclusive of roots and stuns". It would be my guess that a tactic that reduces the effect of "movement impairing effects" is targeted specifically at snares and will not affect roots or stuns at all. » Bishop · talk « 01:25, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
