The intro to this article mentions the size of the cities and how mammoth they were supposed to be - however in practice they're really not much bigger than cities in other MMOs. Should that section be removed?

Agreed. As an example, in Star Wars Galaxies, Coronet and, especially, Theed are as large or larger than either of the Warhammer capital cities.
