[edit] Confirmation of career removal

- On 11th July, an interview with Mythic Entertainment VP Mark Jacobs reveiled that the Black Guard career will not be in the game at release. It is unknown if it will be implemented later. MMORPG.com Source

--Oh happy days it is now out!!! updated it to say its out... i'll let someone else put the skills and whatnot in since i'm not very skilled at throwing the pics in everyone does with the skills... i'm to lazy fer that lol. (aka: i'm to busy playing my black guard to take the time to add it Xp i know i'm so horrible) Shadowpaw

There's actually already a Black Guard Abilities page which, while still incomplete, has a great deal of useful information on it. We do need icons uploaded and individual skill pages typed out, but I'll get around to that eventually if nobody else does. Gazzwidget 19:01, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Black Guard vs Blackguard

I just now noted that it says on the character selection screen that my Dark Elf is a Blackguard, and not a Black Guard. This feels awfully strange and I just thought I would bring it to light... It's most likely a mistake by Mythic, but who knows except them? -- Sacropedia 21:59, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

I don't think they even know; a little digging on the official site turns up constant references to both forms, sometimes changing back and forth in a single article. This is probably one situation where we should stick with what Games Workshop has defined (though offhand I don't know what that is). -- Heaven's Agent 23:13, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
It's an interesting point to ponder. Blackguard, because it's a mean hateful dark elf type guy or Black Guard because that's the title of the regiment of elite troops that guard Malekith himself? I believe it's far more likely to be the later meaning, although a spellchecker would see nothing wrong with the prior meaning and spelling. -- Mawgrim 16:18, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
