Black Guard and Knight of the Blazing Sun

Across the Old World and on the island home of the High Elves, bitter enemies clash in bloody skirmishes and mighty battles. For the soldiers of Order and Destruction, there is no respite and no mercy. Now, the warring factions will gain new allies in the form of the fearsome Black Guard and the cunning Knight of the Blazing Sun. These heavily-armored soldiers race to the battlefront to anchor their Realms' defenses and ensure that for every inch of ground given, the enemy pays in bitter blood.

With a thunderous war-cry and the ringing of steel on steel, the battle begins anew, with neither side willing to retreat or surrender.

[edit] Influence Rewards

The Heavy Metal Event features a selection of Influence Rewards for participating in the Daily Tasks that comprise the Event. These awards culminate in an Elite Reward that, when used, flags a player's game account and allows the creation of a Black Guard or Knight of the Blazing Sun a week before they are made available to the general community.

Once earned, rewards can be claimed at Heralds in the game's Capital Cities: Order players will find the Grand Master Knight in Altdorf, and Destruction players can find the Black Guard Commander in the Inevitable City.

The front lines of Order's righteous struggle against against the malign forces of Destruction will soon be bolstered by the Knights of the Blazing Sun! The Knights, called from all corners of the Empire to perform their duty, will gather together in numbers never seen before! As elite warriors, expert tacticians, and brave templars of the goddess Myrmidia, the Knights of the Blazing Sun are dedicated to claiming complete victory over Chaos and its allies!

Do your part to ensure their success! The Empire's survival depends upon your contribution!

Our pathetic foes teeter upon the edge of a precipice. Only a nudge is required to send these enemies to their final, pitiable doom. The mighty Black Guard of Malekith has conquered the Elven lands of Yvresse and Cothique, and now moves rapidly to join in the main invasion. Within a fortnight, Order's defeat will be all but assured by their arrival. The Dark Elves that serve within this elite cadre are fearless and driven to victory by their all-consuming hatred of their enemies. The purity of a Black Guard's hate, combined with his mastery of arms and armor, will herald out inevitable conquest of the entire world.

Triumph is not without price. Dedicate yourself to change, for there is no greater purpose.

A new Task is revealed each day, and it can be completed at any time during the Heavy Metal Event. Due to the expected time restraints during the Holidays, the last half of the Tasks will be revealed on a single day. Only twelve of the fourteen tasks need to be completed to achieve the Heavy Metal Chest.

There are two titles associated with the Heavy Metal event:

Pie Assassin: Kill an enemy player using a Gaffer's Gravybomb. The gravybomb does 100 damage per attack.
Death By Pie: Be killed by a gravybomb.

Reikland Factory

Primary Article: Reikland Factory

The Riekland Factory Scenario was designed specifically for the Heavy Metal Live Event. Open to all Tiers of play for the Event's duration, opposing forces of 18 players clash over control of an Empire Steam Tank factory. It features 4 capturable objectives, unique graphic and geometric elements, and utilizes the Domination Scenario Rules.

Though the Reikland Factory Scenario does not contribute toward the Campaign, it plays a significant role in Daily Tasks that are part of the Heavy Metal Event. Players receive a 10% increase to Renown Points gained while participating in this Scenario.

The Heavy Metal Event heralds the arrival of new warriors to the Age of Reckoning. Reinforcements arrive for both the forces of Order and Destruction, ready to clash on the open battlefields.
