The Dwarf Firethrower (or Fire Thrower), is essentially a smaller version of the Flame Cannon.[2a]

A firethrower consists of a copper-lined barrel lined with iron loops, which contains its flammable chemical fuel,[1a] a byproduct of the dwarf brewing process.[2a] A flexible pipe connects the barrel with a trigger and ignition mechanism. When the weapon is fired, a jet of combustible liquid shoots from the barrel. Once the jet hits the air, it becomes a searing sheet of flame.[1a]

The firethrower is operated by only two crewmen.[1a][2b] One holds the barrel of the firethrower, while the other fires the weapon. These two Dwarfs may spend many hours perfecting their craft.[1a] For although the firethrower can be very dangerous to the enemies of the dwarfs, its compact size can lead it to be even more temperamental than the Flame Cannon.[2b]
