The mysterious balloons that have appeared in the skies have come to ground at last. Amid the wreckage lies money, jewels, ancient artifacts ... and a mysterious box carved with the image of a long-dead noble.

Beyond the Sands was the second of three Live Events designed to culminate in the release of WAR's first Live Expansion, Call to Arms, in June of 2009. It launched to the North American servers on Monday, April 20, 2009, and to the European servers on Tuesday, April 21. The Event lasted one week, coming to an end on Monday, April 27, 2009.
Influence Rewards

Gain influence by recovering Expedition Crates, battling for control of sarcophagi, destroying skeletons and slaying enemy players.

Beyond the Sands features a selection of Influence Rewards, which can be earned through participation in the various tasks associated with the Event for its duration. Once earned, rewards can be claimed in the game's Capital Cities; Order players will find the Duragin Bitterhelm in Altdorf, and Destruction players will find their Rally Master in the Inevitable City, near the main Flight Path.

The Beyong the Sands Event includes twelve Daily Tasks which can be completed for Influence Points and Tome of Knowledge Achievement Unlocks. In addition, the successful completion of all twelve tasks is awarded with a Title exclusive to the Event, The Eternal.

"Day 119--Great Mortis River, N/NE. I had hoped the Dwarfs we encountered had been slain by the undead vulture-beasts we avoided, but such was not our luck. Their gyrocopters appeared again this morning, far behind us, but gaining rapidly during the afternoon. These accursed Goblin 'pilots' are incompetent; we are moving too slowly."

Fallen Kings Public Quest Edit

The Dark Elves have loaded their plundered treasures upon the airships of their Greenskin allies, but the return trip has proven difficult for the forces of Destruction. Plagued by Dwarf gyrocopters from without, and the malign influence of an ancient evil within the airships' holds, The treasures of Nehekhara are scattered as what remains of the once-proud vessels plummet to ground.
Fallen Kings is a Public Quest unique to the Beyond the Sands Event. Located within several Open RvR Lakes, and with instances in each tier of play, the PQ pits the Realms of Order and Destruction against one another for control of Nehekharan Artifacts and the opportunity to destroy of of the Tomb Kings' most loyal guardians.

Several unique Titles will be available to players of both Realms during the Beyond the Sands Event.

- This Title is awarded to Order Characters upon locating Calvin Ackmeyer in Altdorf.
- Preparer of Ways - Destro Only
- This Title is awarded to Destro Characters upon locating Taltrek Ragehand in the Inevitable City.
- The Eternal
- This Title is awarded to a character that has completed all twelve Daily Tasks that are included in the Beyond the Sands Event.
- Graverobber
- This Title is awarded to characters upon use of the Basic Influence Reward Elixir of Life.
